Editorial Review for Sweet Tomatoes – by John Youngren
The Scene
A light, airy setting and an array of wooden chairs, tables and booths give the impression of an especially nice company cafeteria. There's plenty of room for business lunches, casual family meals, group outings and general lingering; the laid-back-but-courteous staff and lack wandering restrictions make another spin through that buffet line all the more inviting.
The Food
A little bit of everything, from a mammoth salad bar (with fresh vegetables, three specialty salads and 10 different kinds of dressing) to almost every imaginable pasta, fruit and bakery good. Some items are bland, like the undercooked Italian vegetable beef pasta or the blase tomato Parmesan and vegetables soup. No matter--hot baked potatoes, fresh and warm sourdough bread, and doughy, saucy focaccia pizza more than make up for it. Top it off with vanilla or chocolate yogurt and call it a meal.

Buffet BargainThe value is in the buffet's variety of food. At lunch, it's less than $7. With a drink, you're out of there for less than $9.

Lots of variety, but so little quantity. They try too hard to limit portion size by limiting the amount of the food. You have to keep going back to get what you want as there wasn't enough the first time.
Pros: Good bread
Cons: skimpy availability of the extras
